Welcome to Paradise. The W Bali is unquestionably the best SPG (Starwood) hotel I have ever been to. The hotel creates an amazing escape from the outside world for the length of your stay, so much so that you won't ever want to leave. Once you drive down the bamboo entrance, away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, you have arrived into one of the most magical W hotels I have ever seen. Everything is perfection, from the food, service, design, the employees knowing you by name, this hotel never misses a beat. It has set itself apart from the rest of the W hotels and I would put it up there with the Park Hyatt Maldives.
We paid to have a hotel car to pick us up at the airport, which I would highly recommend, just makes the transfer from the flight to the hotel that much easier. We walked out after picking up our bags and there it was the W hotel iPad with our name on it.
We were welcomed to the hotel by the hotel manager and and SPG Ambassador, it was a true SPG Platinum welcome. While checking in they offer you a drink and a cold towel. Different then anything I had ever experienced they asked you the sent you'd like, offering up three amazing sent. One thing you will learn quickly is this hotel loves to pamper its guests. They have cooling mist all over for you to constantly spray yourself with, they also have candy at the bar in the lobby which is so amazing, I always took a few when walking by.
After check in the SPG Ambassador walked us up to our suite on the top floor. It was such an amazing room, everything about this room is amazing. The colors, space and the view from the balcony were beyond expectations. I normally choose to stay at W Hotels because I love there design, atmosphere and youth vibe and this one met all your expectation and more.
They escorted us to the waiting black BMW SUV. The car is stocked with magazines, cold water, green apples, candy and its all complimentary. Its a short ride to the hotel, but one which will quickly introduce you to the Seminyak area. You drive down busy crowded streets and wonder where all the hotels are, they each seam to have a private gate that leads far down off the streets to the beaches. When you arrive at the W hotel you can't help but be excited for what awaits you. You turn off this busy street onto a road that is covered with bamboo. So beautiful and captivating, in that moment I knew what awaited me was something amazing. Security is taken very seriously in Bali so don't be alarmed. They check the trunk, under the car and inside the vehicle for anything suspicious. I have learn from traveling all over the world that hotels which have Westerner staying with them always want to ensure the safety of there guests.
The property features four luxury restaurants, which include a variety of foods from Indonesian and Mediterranean cuisine along with fresh ingredients from the hotel’s farm. You can also reserve a special dinner throughout the property should you be looking for something a little more special. The staff at the Mandapa look to ensure you are completely satisfied with your stay and are some of the most helpful and attentive hotel staff you will ever meet. Look to reserve a dinner in one of the cocoons at the Cocoon Restaurant for you and your loved one. I highly recommend it.
